Dear Ms. Shanahan,

It has come to my attention that it is your contention that the problem of airport noise has improved since you've received fewer complaints. That is, most definitely, not the case.  In fact, the situation continues to be as unacceptable as ever.  Your assumption of improvement could not possibly be further from the truth. I, and I presume others within the community, have simply become discouraged and no longer express our discontent since our complaints have obviously failed to improve the situation.

                                                                                    Thank you, XXXXXXXX

I just returned home and found your summary.  I suggest that you add the following points.

The city manager stated that she thought the problem of airport noise was improved over the last few months.  I did not agree.  The city manager also stated that because they received "fewer complaints" that the conclusion of "an improved situation" was warranted.

Perhaps everyone who agrees that the "problem is improved" should tell the city manager they agree.  If anyone disagrees with the city manager's conclusion that the "problem is improved" they should tell the city manager the problem has not improved.
