2/2/2012 Email I sent to city
staff/residents and airport director after submitting to Report a Concern on
City web site about previous days noise issues
(note I cannot add photos to the City web site submission)
Steven,
Monday and
Tuesday, Jan 31 and Feb. 1 were unusually high aircraft traffic days where most
of the flights did not follow the suggested path. The worst periods were in the
afternoon from about noon to 3 and a little later.
The noise started when the flights switched to taking off to the East. Some of
the flights were no where near the requested path and some even turned north and
were close to flying over US 1 over Tomoka Estates, not even approaching the
Tomoka River.
Here are a few of the photos I took when either before, during or after the
aircraft was almost on top of my home, which is not on the suggested path.
Another item I think that needs to be focused on is, that many of these flights
are probably students flying solo and there is no control over where they go
after takeoff. The instructor and tower cannot see them most of the time. I
noticed also, that it appears that Ormond Beach Aviation (changed name to EASA),
then EASA (Euro American School of Aviaiton) and now Fly 4 Fun 75 Inc is the
recent registrations for N9225N. Maybe has something to do with the airplane
crash at the airport last July? Just curious…
Also, the green on the overhead aerial view shows where a LOT of flights are
going lately.
To the Ormond Beach Commission and Manager, I am aware there is nothing you can
do about this but none the less, complaints can be made because the source of
the noise is the Ormond Beach Airport. I was curious if all expenses (police, fire,
medical, damages resulting from the airplane crash at the airport in July were
paid for or submitted to the company responsible for the crash.
